Get To Know Dr. Raymond Wright III
Dr. Wright began his interest in dentistry when he was young, by observing his father practice as a Periodontist. As he grew older he had a natural sense of helping others, especially those with discomfort. Dr. Wright is quite fond of science and dentistry and dentistry allows him to help others as well as apply scientific principles. Through proper education to the patient, Dr. Wright helps patients understand their true dental needs, and wants all patients to understand that dentistry involves their total health not just their oral health. Dr. Wright was also privileged to work closely with two mentoring doctors for the first six months post graduation from dental school who are MAGD’s and helped to advance skills in diagnosis and treatment planning as well as gain expertise in restorative, endodontics and oral surgery. He earned his BS in Biological Sciences and his MS in Biological Sciences-Microbiology from Illinois State University. Dr. Wright completed his DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) at the University of Illinois-Chicago in 2005. He is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), California Dental Association(CDA) and the San Diego County Dental Society(SDCDS).
As Dr. Wright is new to San Diego, he is still finding his way around the city and all it has to offer. He is getting into road biking and always finding new trails to explore. He enjoys going to concerts, sporting events, street festivals, comedy shows, and exploring new restaurants. He has a green thumb, back in Chicago he had 15 plants and since moving to San Diego he now has 8 plants!
